On December 20th, Aloha Fridays at Pono Hawaiian Grill in The Reef is pleased to host and promote its first Pono Kalikimaka Kanikapila.
This will be an unplugged event where everybody is encouraged to attend and actively participate in this free and happy evening of Aloha, wala’au (conversation), song, and the Joy of the Season – AND of course, delicious food and Christmas drink. Nobody present is a poor singer, poor ‘ukulele, guitar, harmonica,(or whatever) player – and we’ve NEVER seen a poor hugger at Pono.  Undoubtedly there will be some Christmas Specials coming from The Charming Ladies behind the bar and specials out of the kitchen as well.
In the midst of all the shopping, confusion, and (sometimes) frustration of this time of year let’s all bring our Aloha and Christmas Cheer to share with the ‘Ohana at Pono and The Reef. And, of course, bring your friends and any kine music makers that you have. We will gather about 6:00 pm and continue until pau (finished}. Tho there will be no cover, no suggested donation and no tip jar; food and drink do need to be paid for and we’re certain that the folks who are responsible for the great food and libations might enjoy a “Christmas Thank You” for their service this past year.
Please share with us any ideas you may have, and if you wish to bring printouts to share of any favorite seasonal songs from any culture or language, that would be great. Hope to see you at Pono on the 20th.
