Mike Keale – “Home” from Kaua’i

  • 26 May 2013 5:00pm
“Mike Keale is perhaps most well-known for being a cousin of world renown singer Israel Kamakawiwo’ole and a nephew of award winning traditional Hawaiian music vocalist Moe Keale, but he is an important Hawaiian music performer in his own right. Mike has kept his family’s Hawaiian music legacy alive by performing regularly at prestigious Waikiki venues such as the historic Royal Hawaiian and Moana Hotels, the Prince Kuhio Hotel, the Marriott Waikiki’s Moana Terrace Lounge, and others”*.  Now living in Kaua’i, Mike has teamed up with such musical giants as The Makaha Sons, Eric Lee, and many others.  During a more than one year residence in Sacramento and the S.F. Bay Area, Michael was “adopted” by the Santa Cruz ‘Ohana and he played here at various venues, many times.  Back for only a weekend, we are honored to be able to host our Braddah on Sunday May 26th.  Join us as we welcome Michael “back home”.                      *hawaiianmusichistory.com
