Deja Vu — “all over again”. Tho it somehow seems like just a bit ago, it has been six and a half years since Pono Hawaiian Grill opened its doors. At that time, not having been “connected” with many groups, we hosted good friends Ho`omana every other week. It worked well for everyone – Ho`omana was happy with the work and the exposure, and Pono was thrilled with the great music and customer draw that “Da Boyz” provided.
Here we go again presenting them with only one week between visits. Schedule changes, group unavailability, guests from Hawai`i, and other reasons dictated this. And guess what? We are in NO way complaining!!! Their repertoire is so great that they will repeat their TOP tunes and (hopefully) share songs from their new “under construction” CD. Just back from laying down tracks in Vegas, they should be pretty excited about that project.
And I hope that lots of dancers of ANY AGE come out, so Robert won’t be “on my back” – like I have some control over the situation. But you know, HE IS CORRECT. The music is but 1/2 of the gift. So you dancers from local halau and haumana from anywhere, don’t be shy – wear easy to kick off slippahs and join us for our celebration of what Hawai`i has given us.
Again, as you know, there will be no cover, but hope that you choose to donate at the door to help speed the new CD toward completion. And be sure to tell/bring your friends. What an awesome gift to give them. See you on August 11th.
