Ho`omana at Pono for GAME 4

  • 9 June 2017 6:30pm

After hosting these guys at Pono for 6 years, and writing hundreds of promos about them, it’s hard to find anything new to say to describe them.

So I’ll write about Game 4 of the NBA Final Championships, Golden-State-Warriors-1 which will occur at the same time as Ho`omana plays. Lol, just kidding! There are plenty of “experts” out there who get paid to write about them, but I DO want to inform you that Santa Cruz is the home of The Santa Cruz Warriors, a team in the Developmental League (“D-League”), from which players can advance to play with the Big Guys (Golden State Warriors) in the NBA. In fact, two years ago the S.C. Warriors won the D-League Championship!!!

Back to Ho`omana!!! I am NOT a dancer, tho I absolutely love Hula. Most of the dancers I know comment that they love dancing for Uncles Manley, Robert, and Eddy because their pace, their style of play, and their understanding of the songs is such that they are A DELIGHT to dance for. Consequently there are usually more dancers at Pono when these guys play than at other times. We have had as many as 35 haumana ready to dance for them on some nights.

Ho`omana with leisTheir harmonies are tight, their experience playing TOGETHER (more than 10 years), and their love of the music and hula, go together to make for a fantastic evening for all.

As you probably remember, tho there will be no cover charge, one of the charming servers will be by the door to receive donations of any amount, for the band, to go toward the completion of their new CD (hopefully, this Summer). Call your friends and come early if you can, and get ready for a great evening of fun, food, and music.
